Pathways Theatre Program

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful spring break. Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House and Neworld Theatre has partnered together to bring you The Pathways Theatre Program. If you’ve missed the first round, there will be a second round starting Friday, April 22, 2016 from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

What this program is about: It is a program for all ages, adults and seniors, where participants explore and share their stories about how they came to Canada, parenting stories and how they experience the change in their lives. We also shared our talents with each other.

I had the chance to participate in the first session and really enjoyed it. Each story was inspiring and we learn a lot from each other. In every session near the beginning, we sit together with chairs placed in a circle in the middle of the room, we check in with each other and discuss how each of us feel. After that, we stood up and did some warmup movement excercises, stretching, and slowly start to move around the room following a creative theme.

As we continued meeting further in each session, we told stories from our past and mimed the actions. We all coordinated and rehearsed a short play or presentation to a small audience. Chelsea, from Neworld Theatre, was an amazing facilitator. She guided us through the whole process.

Photos and videos to come so stay tuned.

If you’re interested in joining us, contact Rosa at Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House to register for the upcoming Pathways Theatre Program that will be starting April 22, 2016. There is limited space.
